Algeria. Ligue 1 - fixtures, stakes and betting on the Algerian top flight
Algeria. Ligue 1 is the top division of Algerian football, run by the Ligue de Football Professionnel under the Algerian Football Federation. Its commercial name is Ligue 1 Mobilis, after the title sponsor. Sixteen clubs contest it, and the format is a straight double round-robin — every side meets every other twice, home and away, with no play-offs and no split season.
That produces 30 rounds. The 2026-2027 campaign opened on 27, 28 and 29 August 2026, the first half closes on 31 December 2026 after round 15, play resumes on 28, 29 and 30 January 2027, and the final round is played on 29 May 2027.
📅 How the season is laid out

The gap between the end of December and late January leaves roughly four weeks without league football. Clubs still involved in African competition keep playing through it; the rest do not, and the difference occasionally shows in the first rounds after the restart.
Stage | Dates |
|---|---|
Round 1 | 27, 28 and 29 August 2026 |
End of first half — round 15 | 31 December 2026 |
Restart — round 16 | 28, 29 and 30 January 2027 |
Round 30, final matchday | 29 May 2027 |
Knowing where a fixture sits in that calendar changes how a market reads. An August match involves three newly promoted sides still settling in, while a May match may involve a club with nothing left to play for. Odds on Algeria. Ligue 1 open before kick-off and keep moving during the match — live football markets stay open once play has started.
🥇 What the final table decides
Beyond the title, the standings hand out four continental places and send three clubs down. The bottom three — 14th, 15th and 16th — drop into Ligue 2 amateur, a wider relegation zone than the league used before the 2025-2026 change. Three clubs come up in return: the winners of the Centre-East and Centre-West groups of Ligue 2, plus a third through a play-off. JS El-Biar, CR Témouchent and US Biskra took that route into the 2026-2027 season.
Final position | Outcome |
|---|---|
1st | Algerian champions, CAF Champions League |
2nd | CAF Champions League |
3rd | CAF Confederation Cup |
4th to 13th | Stay up |
14th, 15th, 16th | Relegated to Ligue 2 amateur |
The Algerian Cup winner takes the second Confederation Cup place, so a mid-table club can still reach Africa through the cup route. Comparing that with other national leagues is straightforward from the full football section.
🏆 The clubs with the deepest history
JS Kabylie hold the domestic record with 14 league titles and two CAF Champions League trophies, won in 1981 and 1990. MC Alger have nine championships and a first that no other Algerian club can claim: they won the African Champion Clubs' Cup in 1976, before any of their compatriots. When the two meet, the fixture is known as the Classico algérien. ES Sétif, USM Alger and CR Belouizdad round out the group of most decorated sides.
💳 Betting from Algeria

Accounts are held in Algerian dinar, so no currency conversion sits between a deposit and a stake. BaridiMob handles mobile deposits, Skrill and Neteller cover e-wallet users, and USDT moves over the Tron and BSC networks. Opening an account takes a few minutes.
🔎 Worth following through the season
Three promoted clubs arrive every year and the three-down rule gives them less room than in earlier seasons — 13th place now carries real weight in April and May. For the clubs that qualified for Africa, the continental calendar overlaps the league from February onwards and shapes how squads are rotated. Both patterns emerge over a full cycle rather than a single weekend, and the main page lists the other competitions running alongside.

❓ Algerian Ligue 1 — common questions
Which days of the week does Algeria. Ligue 1 play on?
The opening round of 2026-2027 was spread across a Thursday, a Friday and a Saturday — 27, 28 and 29 August 2026. The LFP releases the split for each round as the season goes on, and kick-off times are announced alongside it.
How many league matches are played in a season?
Sixteen clubs across thirty rounds means eight fixtures per round and 240 league matches between late August 2026 and late May 2027. The Algerian Cup and African competitions are played on top of that.
Can a newly promoted club qualify for Africa in its first season?
Yes. Continental places are decided by final position, not by how long a club has been in the division. A promoted side that finishes in the top three qualifies on the same terms as anyone else — first and second enter the CAF Champions League, third goes to the Confederation Cup.
Is the relegation zone the same size as in previous seasons?
No. Since 2025-2026 three clubs go down instead of two, so 14th, 15th and 16th all drop to Ligue 2 amateur. Three clubs come up in exchange: the Centre-East and Centre-West group winners plus a play-off qualifier.
