Table tennis before the first serve: games, leagues and markets
Table tennis is a racket sport contested one against one in singles or pair against pair in doubles. Founded in 1926, the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) writes the Laws of Table Tennis as chapter 2 of its Statutes: the playing surface measures 2.74 m by 1.525 m and lies 76 cm above the floor, the top of the net runs 15.25 cm above it and divides the table into two courts, and the ball is a 40 mm plastic sphere weighing 2.7 g, white or orange and matt.
A game goes to the first player or pair with 11 points; at 10 points each it carries on until one side leads by two. The serve passes to the other side after every two points, and point by point once the score reaches 10-10. A match is decided over an odd number of games, and the Laws leave the exact figure to the regulations of each competition.
Why a best of five here and a best of seven there
Regulations of the leagues in the line make different choices. The TT Cup handbook, behind the group «TT-Cup. Czech Republic», allows only the best-of-five format: three games win the match, after a round robin of four players and matches for first and third place. The Masters regulations in Poland for the 2026 season send every match on until one player has won four games. The ITTF's own regulations for international competitions add an interval of up to one minute between games, brief towelling breaks after every six points and a single time-out of up to a minute per player or pair, requested between rallies with a «T» sign and marked by the umpire with a white card.
Two outcomes and everything counted in points
Because a game needs a two-point lead and a match has an odd number of games, no table-tennis match ends level. The site's «1X2» group therefore holds just W1 and W2.

Under item 7 of section 10.3, handicaps and totals in this sport are quoted in points unless the market is explicitly «Handicap By Sets» or «Total Sets». A line of 75.5 points is passed as soon as the match produces 76 of them. Accounts are kept in Algerian dinars (DZD) and are opened through the sign-up page.
Leagues that fill the line all year round
Most groups in the section belong to commercial leagues that play daily; official ITTF and ETTU championships can join them on the days they are held.
Setka Cup matches come from a professional league with Ukrainian roots, partner of that country's federation, which plays and films matches around the clock, with an average match of around 30 minutes, two players and one umpire inside the playing area, and shirts in red or blue only. Arena names such as Paris, Seoul or Africa label the league's own arenas rather than host cities: the «Paris» arena, for instance, sits in the league's Prague base, so «Setka Cup. Paris» is not a tournament in France.
Czech Pro League tournaments correspond, judging by the players entered, to the LIGA PRO CZ, a commercial series played in Liberec and Ostrava in blocks of four hours between 8:00 and midnight, and Liberec adds a night block that ends at 6:00; daytime tournaments gather four players in a round robin, night ones five, and entry requires an ELO rating above 1350.
Masters tournaments from Poland are staged by a foundation at Rynia and Bolesław on any day of the week, in groups of four playing each other once, with players sorted by ranking into the Superleague, Leagues A to D and Women's Leagues A and B.
Both the Setka Cup and the Masters regulations bar players from betting on tournaments they take part in.
Algeria's federation, continental medals and Oran 2022
The sport is run by the Algerian Table Tennis Federation (FATT). Its 2026 Algerian Cup in Chelghoum Laïd, wilaya of Mila, drew 120 boys and girls representing 17 clubs from eight wilayas across the U12, U15, U19 and senior categories. Algiers staged the 2022 ITTF-Africa Senior Championships inside the Coupole at the Mohamed Boudiaf Olympic Complex, where Algeria collected one silver and five bronze medals and both its men's and women's teams booked places at the 2023 World Championships in South Africa. At the 2024 edition in Addis Ababa the men's team, the women's doubles and the mixed doubles all took silver and the women's team bronze. In July 2026 a squad of thirteen U15 and U19 players came home from Accra with seven individual medals (one gold, two silver, four bronze), four team medals (one silver, three bronze) and three more from the African Youth Cup that followed. Oran hosted the table-tennis events of the 2022 Mediterranean Games, and in 2024 Algiers held a WTT Youth Contender, a youth stop of the ITTF's World Table Tennis series, with 170 players from 20 countries announced.
Retirements and unfinished matches: section 10.3
The betting rules have no chapter of their own for table tennis; the sport shares section 10.3, «Badminton, Table Tennis, Beach Volleyball». A withdrawal or disqualification during the first game returns every stake at odds of 1, match-winner bets included, apart from markets already decided. Once the first game has been completed, bets on the winner stand and a forfeit is declared. If more than two games have been played, markets already decided, such as the total of the first game, are settled on their result, the remaining ones go to odds of 1, and the player who moves on to the next round counts as the winner. A postponed start keeps bets alive until the match or its tournament concludes or a participant withdraws, and a player substituted before the start voids «Win The Match» bets.
