UEFA Conference League 2026/27: the Algerians' clubs, key dates and betting
The third tier of European club football, below the Champions League and the Europa League, the Conference League is run by UEFA ⚽. It reaches its sixth season in 2026/27, the third since it dropped its original name, Europa Conference League. The winner earns a place in the 2027/28 Europa League league phase, unless already qualified through their domestic league.
Six games per club, one table
The 36 league-phase clubs were split into six pots of six according to UEFA's coefficient. The draw, made in Monaco on 28 August 2026, the same day as the Europa League draw, handed each club one opponent from every pot, making six games: three at home, three away, 108 in total. Everyone shares a single table: the top eight head straight to the round of 16, the next sixteen go through a two-legged play-off, and the last twelve bring their European season to an end.
The league phase starts on Thursday 15 October 2026 and continues on 22 October, 5 November, 26 November, 10 December and 17 December, always on Thursday evenings. Then comes the knockout bracket: play-offs on 18 and 25 February 2027, the round of 16 on 11 and 18 March, the quarter-finals on 8 and 15 April and the semi-finals on 29 April and 6 May. The final takes place on Wednesday 2 June 2027 at Beşiktaş Stadium in Istanbul, which already hosted the Europa League final in May 2026.
The four clubs of Algeria's internationals
Four Algeria internationals play for clubs in the competition: Jaouen Hadjam at Brighton & Hove Albion, signed from Young Boys in August 2026, Ramiz Zerrouki at Twente, Abdelkahar Kadri at Gent and Ahmed Kendouci at Lugano. Their clubs do not meet in the league phase; here are their opponents, date by date:

At the 2026 World Cup, Hadjam and Zerrouki were both part of the Algeria squad, and Hadjam featured in three of the Greens' four games. Some schedules overlap: Brighton and Lugano both face Getafe, Jablonec and Kauno Žalgiris, while Gent and Twente both meet AGF and Thun. It is the clubs who meet; whether a player features depends on each game.
A field from 30 countries
The 36 clubs come from 30 countries. Denmark has four (FC Copenhagen, Midtjylland, Nordsjælland, AGF), while Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland have two each. Monaco are the only Ligue 1 club involved, and Brighton & Hove Albion the only Premier League side, which makes both of them natural reference points for fans who follow French and English football. Twelve clubs arrived after losing a Europa League play-off, among them Trabzonspor, Red Star Belgrade and Universitatea Craiova.
Monaco start away to CSKA Sofia on 15 October, host SC Freiburg on 22 October and Nordsjælland on 5 November, travel to Heart of Midlothian on 26 November and to Brighton on 10 December, and finish at home against Lincoln Red Imps on 17 December, the last night of the league phase.

Crystal Palace, the 2026 winners
On 27 May 2026, at Leipzig Stadium, Crystal Palace beat Rayo Vallecano 1:0 through a Jean-Philippe Mateta goal in the 51st minute, and Adam Wharton was named player of the match. In the semi-finals, Palace had knocked out Shakhtar Donetsk (5:2 on aggregate) and Rayo had removed Strasbourg (2:0). It was a first European final for both clubs and Crystal Palace's first European trophy; they play in the Europa League this season, so they are not defending the title.
