East vs West betting: arm wrestling super-matches in Algeria

East vs West is a series of arm wrestling super-matches sold on a pay-per-view basis. It was founded in 2021 by Engin Terzi, and its first card took place on 12 June 2021 in Istanbul. Every fixture is a single duel between two athletes, pulled to three wins (best-of-5); a title fight goes to four wins (best-of-7). The rulebook is built on the WAF base with the series' own amendments. Both arms are contested, left and right, across weight classes that run from under 80 kg to super-heavyweight, with an open class for women.

By March 2025 the series had staged 17 numbered events, from EvW 1 in June 2021 to EvW 17, at a pace of four to five cards a year. The 2021 and 2022 seasons were held entirely in Turkey, between Istanbul and Yalova; Tbilisi and the American venues came later. The events carry numbers rather than city names, so EvW 12 or EvW 16 identifies a card wherever it was held. The results that define the series so far: Levan Saginashvili of Georgia beat Devon Larratt 4:0 at EvW 12; Larratt, from Canada, had beaten Denis Cyplenkov at EvW 10; John Brzenk of the United States took Oleg Petrenko 3:0 at EvW 5 at the age of 57; Italy's Ermes Gasparini won at EvW 1 and beat Michael Todd 3:0 at EvW 16. In Algeria these cards are priced on 1xBet under East vs West, before the event and then live while the pulls are on.

🦾 How a East vs West card reads for betting

A super-match is one duel: two pullers, one table, one referee, and the win goes to whoever pins the opponent's hand to the pad. Arm wrestling has no draws. Every round produces a winner, and the match ends the moment one side reaches the required number of wins. A round can be over in a fraction of a second after the start command or turn into a long static hold where neither hand moves for many seconds. On an East vs West card several duels run through the evening, and each pairing carries its own line and its own odds, so a card of several fixtures means as many separate winner markets rather than one event.

In the line each fixture is listed by the two names, the way Vitaly Laletin vs Alizhan Muratov or Tobias Sporrong vs Alex Kurdecha have appeared. The full set of cards open for betting, this series alongside the other promotions, sits in the arm wrestling line section.

Pre-match line and live odds

The line opens ahead of the event: once a card is announced, each athlete has a price, and that price keeps moving until the referee's start. Pre-match is the time to compare the two pullers, check which arm the duel is on and in which weight class it is set. From the first round onwards everything goes live. Rounds are short, the odds are rewritten between rounds, and the score can swing from one round to the next; a favourite who drops the opening round is repriced, and the price moves back if he levels. Duels in progress are grouped on the live arm wrestling page.

The winner market as the base of the line

With no draw possible, the main market is the winner of the duel: two outcomes, two prices. The East vs West offer is built around it. Other markets depend on the card and the event; they appear per fixture, and the duel page shows what is open at the moment you place the bet. The winner bet stays readable in every case, pre-match or live, whatever the number of rounds already pulled.

Those parameters do not change from one event to the next. A 3:0 recorded in Istanbul and a 3:0 recorded in Orlando were pulled under the same rules and the same format, which makes results inside the series directly comparable. A score taken from another promotion, under a different rulebook, needs adjusting before it can be used the same way, and a score from a different arm or a different weight class tells you less than it seems.

What to look at before placing a bet

  • The arm. A puller can be dominant right-handed and ordinary on the left. The card states which arm the duel is on; the price only makes sense together with that information.

  • The weight. Note the class of the fixture and each athlete's record inside that class, rather than his results across all classes.

  • The style. Top roll (pulling the fingers and hand outward), hook, press. Two opposite styles produce very different rounds, and a static hold rewards the puller who keeps his position longer.

  • Past results in the series. Earlier scores between the same two names, or against common opponents on other EvW cards, are the most direct reference available, because format and rules are identical from event to event.

Following the series from Algeria

The tournament page lives in the Arm Wrestling section of the 1xBet line, and the full sports line lets you move from an EvW duel to any other event without leaving the bet slip. Stakes are placed in Algerian dinars. For a card followed on the move, the mobile version of 1xBet keeps the duel page and the live odds on the phone, and the home page is the entry point to the day's events, arm wrestling included.
