NHL in Algeria: 2026-27 season, playoffs and the Stanley Cup
The NHL, short for National Hockey League, is the strongest professional ice hockey competition in the world π. Its 32 US and Canadian franchises are split into two conferences: the East, made up of the Atlantic and Metropolitan divisions, and the West, made up of the Central and Pacific divisions. Every club chases the same prize, the Stanley Cup.
The 2026-27 campaign opens on Tuesday 29 September 2026, and it brings a change not seen since 1993-94: each team now plays 84 regular-season games instead of 82. Carolina Hurricanes start it as reigning champions after lifting the Cup in June 2026.
How the 2026-27 season is structured

There is no promotion or relegation in the NHL. The same franchises return every autumn, and the regular season only decides who earns a place in the spring knockout rounds and who goes home early.
Stage | Window | Format |
|---|---|---|
Regular season | from Tuesday 29 September 2026 until Saturday 10 April 2027 | every club plays 84 times; standings by division and conference |
Playoffs | after 10 April 2027, dates not yet published | 16 teams, every series is won with four victories |
Final series | June 2027 | two teams, the Cup at stake, best of seven |
A playoff series can therefore last anywhere from four to seven meetings between the same two opponents, which gives form and momentum time to show. The league has not yet released the exact 2027 playoff calendar, so only the June window for the final is fixed.
Night hockey from Algeria: when the puck drops
Algeria stays on UTC+1 all year, while North American Eastern Time (ET) moves from UTCβ4 to UTCβ5 in early November. A 19:00 ET puck drop is 00:00 in Algiers during October, then 01:00 once November arrives. Late slots at 22:00 and 22:30 ET run from 03:00 to 04:30 local time. Only the first game of opening night, at 17:00 ET, falls at a friendly hour: 22:00 in Algeria π.
Most bettors in Algeria will place their pre-match picks in the evening and read the results over breakfast. Those who stay up can follow live ice hockey odds period by period, with prices recalculated after every goal. The other hockey leagues open for betting sit together under Ice Hockey, next to the NHL.
Dates worth circling
The season opens on 29 September with a five-game slate (Eastern Time):
17:00 ET: Carolina Hurricanes v Florida Panthers, with the champions' banner going up first;
19:00 ET: Montreal Canadiens v Toronto Maple Leafs;
20:00 ET: New York Rangers v Boston Bruins;
22:00 ET: Vancouver Canucks v Edmonton Oilers;
22:30 ET: Chicago Blackhawks v Vegas Golden Knights.
Three games move outdoors later in the season. The Heritage Classic brings Winnipeg Jets and Montreal Canadiens to Princess Auto Stadium in Winnipeg on 25 October 2026. On 31 December 2026 the Winter Classic sends Utah Mammoth and Colorado Avalanche to Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, and the Stadium Series puts Dallas Stars against Vegas Golden Knights at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on 20 February 2027. In between, the All-Star Weekend takes over UBS Arena on Long Island on 5 and 6 February 2027.
NHL betting on 1xBet

Every regular-season game gets its own pre-match page, which turns into a live page at the opening faceoff. These markets appear on almost every fixture:
Market | What you are backing |
|---|---|
Match winner | the winning team, overtime and shootout included |
Regulation-time result | home win, draw or away win after the three periods |
Total goals | more or fewer goals than the line on offer |
Handicap | the final margin once a virtual head start or deficit is applied |
Period betting | the result of one chosen period |
2027 champion | the club that lifts the Cup, a market open until the final |
The first two markets are easy to confuse. In regulation-time betting, a game that is level after three periods counts as a draw, even if one side goes on to win in overtime or in the shootout, so the same result can settle two slips in different ways.
Other season-long markets name the conference and division winners. They are listed in the full pre-match sports schedule, where NHL games can share a single bet slip with evening fixtures from other sports.
The account runs in Algerian dinar (DZD) π³, with deposits and withdrawals through BaridiMob, RedotPay, Binance Pay or USDT. Opening a dinar account before 29 September lets you back a future champion before the first faceoff.
Where the 2026 Stanley Cup went
The 2026 final was played between 2 and 14 June. Carolina Hurricanes beat Vegas Golden Knights 4:2 in the series and won the second Stanley Cup in the club's history, the first one dating back to 2006.
On 29 September the champions raise their banner before facing Florida Panthers, while Vegas begin their new campaign the same night in Chicago. From there, every regular-season night feeds into the playoff picture that will be settled in June 2027.
