UEFA Nations League in Algeria: six matchdays, March ties and the June 2027 trophy
UEFA Nations League is the UEFA competition for national teams, and since 2018 it has filled the calendar slots that friendlies used to take. Fifty-four federations enter, arranged in four tiers labelled A to D. The top three carry sixteen sides apiece, drawn into four groups; tier D breaks the pattern: six sides, and only two groups. Results move teams between the tiers, up after a strong campaign and down after a weak one, so a national-team autumn now has a table behind it. ⚽
The trophy belongs to League A, and this is its field for a fifth edition — the previous four were settled in 2019 and 2021, then in 2023 and 2025. Portugal arrives as champion and as the one nation with two titles, after a shoot-out against Spain in the last final; France took the title in 2021 and Spain in 2023. Sixteen teams now start again from zero points.
The four groups and the road out of them
The groups have been settled since the Brussels draw of 12 February 2026, and six of the sixteen names in them spent last season one tier lower. Heading the other way were Poland, Scotland, Switzerland, Hungary, Israel and Bosnia and Herzegovina, all of them a division down for this campaign.

Each side meets its three rivals home and away, six matches in all: four of them between 24 September and 6 October 2026, the last pair between 12 and 17 November. Topping a group no longer opens the door to June by itself. Since the 2024/25 edition League A holds a quarter-final round on 25–30 March 2027, each group winner drawn against a runner-up over two legs, and the four survivors play two semi-finals in the week of 9–13 June 2027, then the third-place game and the final. At the other end of the table a fourth place drops a division at once, while third place defends its status in the same March window against a side from below. The June host stays open until the Executive Committee of UEFA picks it, preferring one of the qualified four.

A matchday runs across three evenings rather than one: September takes 24, 25 and 26, then 27, 28 and 29; October has 1, 2 and 3, then 4, 5 and 6; November closes with 12, 13 and 14, then 15, 16 and 17.
Algeria holds UTC+1 all year, while Europe puts its clocks forward for the autumn dates. A kick-off listed at 20:45 CET therefore lands at 19:45 in Algiers until the end of October and at 20:45 once the November window opens; the handful of 18:00 CET fixtures land at 17:00, then at 18:00. Group A1 supplies the evenings that matter most here.

The two France–Belgium meetings sit a week apart, in Belgium on 28 September and in France on 5 October, with a single fixture each in between. France and Italy split their pair across the windows, October in France and November in Italy, and those evenings shape the table. All six are already listed in the pre-match sports board, weeks before the first whistle.
France in A1: the reason Algeria tunes in
Algeria has no team in this draw and cannot have one: only UEFA members are admitted, which keeps the field European from the top division to the bottom. The pull here comes from the names on the team sheets rather than from a flag to follow.
France carries most of that audience. A large Algerian community lives there, French fixtures are watched in Algeria the way local derbies are watched elsewhere, and all six of them this autumn come against Belgium, Italy and Turkey. Spain in A3 and Portugal in A4 hold their own crowd on the nights in between. The whole competition sits inside Football in the pre-match list, and once a game starts it moves to football in play, where the score, the clock and the market list change together.
Pre-match, live and season-long markets
A group match opens for betting several days before kick-off with the football list regulars know: the result after ninety minutes, double chance, handicaps, goal totals, correct score and both teams to score, with each half priced on its own as well. When the referee starts the game, the same page turns live and the prices follow the play.
Two markets run across the whole autumn instead of a single evening: the outright title and the top place in each group. They stay on the board until the tables are final, and the March ties join the list once the last matchday has been played. After 17 November
With the group stage behind them the sixteen wait for spring, when the March window separates the four teams bound for June from the ones defending their tier. Germany staged the previous closing week in Munich and Stuttgart in June 2025, beaten 2:1 by Portugal in its own semi-final, and France left that week with third place. 🏆
