Frosty Bonanza: locked ice rows, sweets and free spins
Frosty Bonanza comes from Mancala: a video slot on a 6x6 grid, with six reels, six rows and symbols that pay wherever they land. Winning combinations are cleared from the reels and set off an avalanche effect, and every Base Game spin opens with the top three rows sealed as locked cells.
Candy and fruit under ice
Ten regular symbols fill the paytable. The candied apple pays the most, followed by the pink-and-white swirl sweet, the green macaron and the orange fruit jelly; next come the gummy bear, the chocolate bonbon, the strawberry, the plum, the watermelon and, at the bottom, the banana. How the locked rows open
Rows 4, 5 and 6 differ in durability. Row 4 cells sit at level 1 and give way after one unlocking action, row 5 cells need two, and row 6 cells need three. A locked cell may hold a regular or a special symbol, yet that symbol does nothing until it is freed: no wins, no features.
An unlocking action comes from:
a winning combination touching at least one side of the locked cell;
a Bomb whose area of effect reaches it;
a Row Opener activation.
In the Base Game the ice comes back. Once every symbol action has played out and no winning combination is left, all cells in rows 4 to 6 lock again.
Coins and the helper symbols
Coin, Coin Multiplier, Row Opener and Surprise symbols can land in either phase of the game.
Coin: pays its displayed amount times the bet, then disappears.
Coin Multiplier: multiplies every Coin on view, locked cells included, and then turns into a Coin itself.
Row Opener: deals 1 damage to the lowest locked row still available and is removed after use.
Surprise: becomes a Coin, a Coin Multiplier or a Row Opener, and in the Bonus Game possibly a Bomb or a Wild Maker.
Bombs and Wild Makers are exclusive to the Bonus Game. A Bomb wipes regular symbols from a 3x3 area and strips one durability level from any locked cell inside it. A Wild Maker converts 2 to 4 regular symbols into Wilds, then becomes a Wild too.
Free spins, row multipliers and Buy Bonus
Scatters show a rainbow swirl of soft ice cream labelled BONUS, and each reel can hold only one. Three or more in the Base Game start the Free Spins Bonus Game: 3 Scatters award 5 spins, 4 award 7, 5 award 10 and 6 award 15. Landing three or more again during the feature adds one extra spin per Scatter.
Locked cells keep their damage for the whole feature instead of resetting between spins. Every locked row also carries its own Bonus Game multiplier: x2 on row 4, x4 on row 5 and x8 on row 6. Once collected, it multiplies the current win and every win that follows, though never the total balance.
