Egypt. Premier League live: Egyptian league games in play
Egypt. Premier League live follows Egypt's top division from kick-off onwards. Twenty clubs first play each other once, nineteen games apiece, and then the season splits into two groups.
Why the split matters late in games
The top six go into a home-and-away group for the title and the African places, while sides from 7th to 20th move into a relegation group from which four go down. The same scoreline in the 80th minute weighs differently in each group, and a team near the bottom may settle for a point.
Stage | What it means in play |
|---|---|
First stage, 19 games | Every club meets every other once |
Top-six group | Title and continental places at stake |
Group of 7th to 20th | Four relegated at the end |
On a live match page the half and the minute sit above the score, next to the result of each half, and each team's corners and cards are counted under its name. Those counters help read a side that is sitting deeper.
