UEFA Champions League live: Champions League games in play
UEFA Champions League live follows the UEFA Champions League once games are under way. In the league phase 36 clubs share one table, each playing eight matches against eight different opponents.
One table, and every minute counts
Places one to eight lead directly into the round of 16, clubs placed 9th to 24th enter the knockout play-offs and those from 25th to 36th are out. A late goal can move a side several places up or down, even when the match itself is already settled.
Stage | What is decided in play |
|---|---|
League phase | Points and rank in a 36-club table |
Play-offs and knockout ties | Two legs, no away goals rule |
Level on aggregate | Extra time of two 15-minute periods, then penalties |
In a second leg, a level aggregate leads to extra time. Penalties that follow are not part of the match score. Follow the tie through the live page: its running clock and half-by-half score show how the aggregate is moving.
